Regular Season

Competitive Games will begin in early May and are expected to run to the first week in July (details will be provided as soon as the schedule is set). Games are expected to be on Saturday mornings for all ages. A game schedule will be provided closer to startup.

U13 and U15 Training for will be on Tuesday and Thursday evening (6:30-8:00pm) with games on Saturday mornings

U11 Training Tuesday evenings. (6:30-8:00pm) with games on Saturday mornings

In 2015 the CCIAC arranged for dispensation to have a number of girls play boys rugby in the U13 and U15 age groups. We are hoping to reintroduce this policy in 2017 and thereby expose girls to competitive rugby.

Additionally for 2017 their will be girls only rugby at the CRU for U13 and U15 girls.  This will run on Monday evenings at the Calgary Rugby Union.

All of the mini and U11 games are down at the Calgary Rugby Union on Saturday mornings (usually from 10-11:30) and are festival type format (just like mini soccer) it’s all about getting kids to have a run and some fun. For the mini’s there is no contact. For U11’s contact (tackling) is introduced after week 2. We do not train the mini’s in the week during the season.

U18 boys and U18 girls will not start training and playing competitive games until the High School rugby season is coming to an end (details will be provided as soon as the schedule is set). We would encourage any 16-18 year olds to come out and train with the senior men. If they have completed High School they are eligible to play senior rugby as well as U18. If they are still in High School and are playing High School rugby they cannot play club rugby until the High School season is over.
