2016 Women’s Program Information:
With two women’s programs at the Calgary Irish you will have the opportunity to learn from elite coaches, including Ricky Coombe (U18 Canadian Women’s Assistant Coach) and Simon Chi (University of Calgary Women’s Head Coach).
Our goal is to promote the sport and focus on growth, both as a team and as individuals. If you want to develop your rugby skills and knowledge, meet new friends, and have a fun summer – join the Calgary Irish today!
The Irish has a history of competing at a high level and we welcome new players of all ages, skill sets and abilities.
The Senior Women are looking to build on last year’s success. Over 65 players have registered for the U18 and Senior teams, and that number is growing. In addition to attracting new players each year, we build a strong Senior side through our development of Junior players, great coaching and unrivalled club spirit. This year we will have two competitive Senior teams (Division 1 and 2) and are looking to transition back into the Premier Division.
Rugby doesn’t have to end after the high school season. Come play club rugby at the Calgary Irish this summer.
We place great emphasis on the development of our Junior players – they’re the the future of our club. Practices start immediately following the high school season. Whether you’re a grade 10 student trying to make your high school team next year, or a grade 12 graduate looking to play at the next level, we have an U18 team and a Senior women’s team, giving you the opportunity to play at the level that best suits your skill.
In the short history of the Junior Irish Women, the U18 girls are:
- 2015 City Finalists
- 2014 City and Provincial Champions
- 2013 City Finalists
