locations—Genesis Centre, Village Square Leisure Centre, and Bob Bahan Aquatic & Fitness
Centre—thanks to the generous contributions of our partners: Canadian Jumpstart, the
Government of Alberta, and KidSport. Enjoy free rugby sessions for the whole family to come
and try!

Satellite Club Goals:
- Increase Accessibility: Provide no-cost registration and free equipment to eliminate
financial barriers for participants. - Enhance Inclusivity: Offer tailored, culturally relevant programming to support equity-
denied populations, including newcomers and Indigenous groups. - Improve Physical Literacy: Develop participants’ physical literacy and rugby skills
through structured, age-appropriate activities. - Foster Community Engagement: Utilize community-based coaches and localized
sessions to build a sense of belonging and support within the community. - Support Healthy Relationships: Promote teamwork, collaboration, and personal
growth through activities designed to foster communication, empathy, and respect. - Create Sustainable Pathways: Transition participants from school and community
programs to formal sport clubs, ensuring long-term engagement in sports. - Address Barriers: Tackle challenges such as transportation issues, cultural/language
differences, and lack of accessible role models to make sports participation more
inclusive and accessible.
We are excited to announce that the CCIAC Satellite Club Program will be working to integrate
our rugby sessions into local schools in the northeast. Stay tuned for more updates and details
in the coming months as we continue to expand our reach and provide inclusive, no-cost sports
opportunities for all!
